News...

So, I can't believe how behind I get with the blogging. OOPS! Let me fill you in on the random happenings around here.
-Skyler is going on his first date!!! A cute little gal at school asked him to Sadies! FA LA LA LA!
(Singing songs of delight...)
-YW going well. (I know, right?)
-Haven't started Christmas shopping yet. (Maybe next year)
-Haven't started Christmas cards. (This is a shocker for me too! I may not get to them! I am donating my time to the old people this year.)
-Koy getting braces back on. Not happy. But won't he look swell?
-Cade wants to be a policeman..... (Hold the laughter, he is serious!)
-No word on deployment yet, but Guard this weekend. Say your prayers. Have you seen those spiders they have in the middle east? Yikes
So I am sure there is more. I only have visions of sugar plums...
And the cards I have not done, the newsletter I should write, the shopping I need to do.......................................

The word is out!

Hold on to your Diet Coke ladies and gentlemen...
Actually, I don't know if this is kosher anymore...
I might have to drink in secret...
Oh sorry...
I am the new Miamaid advisor in our ward!
I know, I know...
Gasp and giggle... gasp and giggle...
but it's true...
The Young Women will never be the same...
I have already launched my "Diet Coke in Young Women Campaign"!

Disclosure: I really am excited and somewhat nervous, but nothing the Diet Coke can't handle.

Cards, Cards, Cards

So it has been requested and I have finally given in.

I will be making a limited number of cards for Christmas this year.

Right now I am making an assortment that I can sell as random packages or you can order several of one design.

Note: Some of the patterned paper may vary slightly according to whether or not I can get these patterns.

The cards will be $1.50 per card and come with the envelope for mailing.

Cards also make a great gift! I love to give packages of random cards for gifts. (Grandma's love this!)

I can also do cards for any occasion, so let me know next time you need a card for a wedding or anniversary too!

You can e-mail your orders to me at bmor9292@yahoo.com

Football, football, football

Tis the season for

Football!!!

We watch it, we play it, we pretty much live it. And although I am still not in the same "red zone" as my sister who watches her boys play in at least 4 games a week, I feel like that is all we do these days. And so be it! It is great! We are actually headed out the door to our 8:00 PM game, hand warmers in hands. I keep my big sleeping bag in the back of my car for just such occasions. Had to dig to find my beanie and hurry to cook up some hot chocolate, but we will make it. I love fall!!! I love the cool days! And I love Football!

Why is it???

That I never have a camera at Payson Onion Days??
Why?
In the height of our aching economy, even Payson Parade entries are struggling.
Just picture the semi truck, ok it was actually a Ford pick up hauling a hay trailer, with speakers blaring and a half dozen 60-somethings doing some square dancing.
The title painted on the construction paper sign....
New pre-school, enrolling now!
Hmmm...

I am IN!
If anyone else wants to enroll, I will be swingin down there this week!

Is there nothing going on the the lives of You?

So I have to admit...
I am bored.
Nobody blogs anymore and quite frankly it just won't work for me.
I need to know what you people are doing.
I also have noticed that a couple of people I know that just had third babies have altogether quit blogging. I can't figure this out. Are you really that busy? (He he)
I must have pictures of the little ones and their doings!
Enlighten me people.
My life is so mundane!
Help a sister out huh?

Hooah!

My baby is home! So glad when he stepped off the escalator and then so stressed that he stepped off the escalator.
He has so many options that he is fearful. He actually misses being yelled at and told what to do.
I feel for him.
He could use your prayers. (So could his parents.)
So glad to have him home!

9 hours now!

I know I'm crazy but who wouldn't count hours?!?
He's so anxious to get home. He kept calling me and asking how to move up his flight time.
I am so excited to get him home and help him start this new chapter of his life.
9 hours now!

Five more days folks!

So we are almost counting hours now! He should be coming home Wednesday evening sometime! We are very happy to get to see him!
We will get to spend the whole weekend with friends and family and he is happy!
He misses his little brothers most of all. He tells me every day how much he misses them.
Cannot wait to squeeze that MAN!

Dirty little secret #??? revealed

I have lost count of my dirty secrets shared here, so I will guess that I'm at #4 or so.

I sweat!

I sweat like crazy! Whether I am hot or not, I sweat! I am sure my mother and maybe a few friends are just snickering with joy that I have reached a prime age where my grotesque body functions rule my world. I know this is disgusting, but true.
So I feel compelled to once again sing from the rooftops that Becca at Dr. Stones office has changed my world forever!

This amazing product has given me new found joy. I can wear a white undershirt. I can give great big hugs. I can even go without deodorant!

So to my favorite assistant..

You Rock!

Introducing Phyllis

We have a new member of our family.

She is smart and stylish. She has a smooth voice and knows a lot!

She is really a peacemaker in our family.

We love her.

We will keep her as long as we can.

How did we ever live without her?

Skyler has affectionately named her Phyllis.

I know we found our way somehow but not without several ripped maps, silent mothers in the passenger seat and many a cuss word from our fathers.

Welcome to our family Phyllis. God bless Garmin!

Retreat to Chico

This past week we jumped in the car and went to the nut farm!

Really! We went to Chico, California where Sterling's parents are serving a mission on a walnut farm. It was absolutely serene! We spent almost a week helping here and there, but mostly just enjoying ourselves. The farm is owned by the church and is home to about 12,500 acres of walnut trees. We decided this is about 20 square miles. The place is enormous! To get to the opposite end of the farm takes about 20-25 minutes. OK so who is eating all these nuts?! 90% of the nuts they process leave the country. They were shipping to Australia, Iran, China and several other foreign countries while we were there. It really is quite a process too. I have new respect for the people that keep this farm rolling. Including my in-laws that work from before sun-up to sundown daily.

Deseret Farms is also home to several million critters as we found out. We saw a skunk, a fox, several owls, many deer, a coyote, jack rabbits, and a raccoon, just to name a few. But the highlight of the animals had to be when we took a walk and came across a doe with her two young fawns. These babies couldn't have been a few days old and were maybe a foot tall. They were the cutest things I have ever seen. One of the little guys got confused about following his mama and came to within a few feet of us. Then he dropped and must have thought he was hiding real good. He stayed that way throughout the night and we were trying to figure out where to buy milk to feed it when it's mother finally came for him. So cool!

I was also able to spend time with my brother Shane that lives in Sacramento. Although I didn't have my camera, we had a very nice dinner with Shane and his friend Ana.

SERENE!

Funny bit of the week

As given by my dental lab guy's son.

Mom: Tell Becky what is in your mouth.

Little dude: A loose central.

Only my dental friends can appreciate when a 4 year old says he has a loose central.
AND, only a dental lab guys kid would say he has a loose central!

To you little dude! That made my day!

Who needs Valium?

After a couple of really emotional days for me, who knew, all I really needed to do was exercise?! Thank goodness I figured that out as I was spiraling to despair levels beyond control! Seriously, exercising is like cocaine for me AND unfortunately,... I hate it! This is a dilemma right? So how does one overcome this situation?
Diet Coke binge? No I already could drink it at midnight IN my sleep and not be phased.
Sit here and try to talk myself into going? Denise Austin, my alter ego, is really annoying and not to be listened to!
Think about pouting in bed for the next 2 days? I kinda like my bed. It's new.
And soft...
OK OK I will force myself to the gym. For my concerned fellow bloggers. And my kids. And my poor husband.
And I guess, a little bit, for me

Here's a shout out to my best BFF Blythe. Get well soon my friend!

Conversation with a 16 year old

Mom: Hi Skyler. How was your day?

Skyler: Good, Good (Very quickly said and a little chipper actually.)

Mom: What?! Did you win a car? (He is a Ken Garff key to success candidate) Do you have an A in Algebra? Did you get asked out on a hot date?

Skyler: No, it's just one of those days when it's good to be alive.

Mom: Singing " The Hills are Alive" from the rooftops in my mind!!

Sometimes this kid really is my breath of fresh air!

Of course, he did tell me later that a girl from his "group" asked him to go see "Star Trek" with the clan.

Are you kidding???!!! Joy of all joys! Rapture! Rapture! This is ranking right up there with this for me.

Some things just really create fabulous-ness for me!

B

Ps If you hear anything odd tonight, please don't report me to the police! I will just be singing from my rooftop that my Amazing Austistic kid just got asked out! And begging the Gods to please bring back my McRib!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

OK, for real?

So, prepare yourselves,
I am going to say it...
Maybe I shouldn't jinx myself..
Oh decisions!!..
OK, I am just going to type it out there!

Life is GOOD!!!

Now if my car doesn't start tomorrow....

WARNING!! This is SAAAAPPY!

It might be a little long too, but well worth the read!

My heart is just bursting and I hope I never come off this high! My son, Macade, is amazing!!! We left home to go to graduation in Missouri on Wednesday the 29th. We made it to our hotel and the thoughts of seeing him the next morning and that he was only 3 miles away was enough to keep sleep at bay. When we were sitting in the auditorium waiting for it all to begin, I thought I would die. I knew he was just on the other side of the door!! So they all marched in and across the stage. He was easy to spot because he is still just so much smaller than most. I about jumped out of my seat. He sat near the front and when his platoon was called up, he didn't go with them. I was like, what the?! Sterling looks over at me and says, "he's sitting with the honorees." As 187 young men and women marched past us, tears streamed down our faces when we realized what a huge accomplishment Macade made. 7 of the company received awards, certificates, badges and promotions and there was my little Macade right in the middle receiving his award for 287 points out of a possible 300 for Physical Training! My pride can still barely be contained! He then had to stand at the stage so that people could walk by and congratulate him. I hurried to get in line but when I got to him I didn't know if he was allowed to hug me. So I asked. He stood for a minute and looked at his Drill Sergeant's and then said, "come here Mama!" and grabbed me in a great big hug.

He has grown up so much and has gotten a little bigger through the chest area. But under it all he's still Macade.

We were able to spend the rest of the day with him and he is so great!!! He is very polite and humble. Every where we went, people would be saying, "there's Moore, he's the fastest in the whole company!" The other soldiers would go out of their way to introduce him to their families. They would be talking about him as we walked by and Macade just would keep walking like they weren't talking about him. I asked if it was weird for them to stop him 10 times in the Walmart and he said, "every where I go it's like this. I'm getting real used to it." He would be so nice when he met people and say, "Thank you so much Mam, it's a pleasure meeting you." I gotta tell you, it was WEIRD! But so nice!

Macade introduced us to a couple of his Drill Sergeants too. One of them told me he just could not keep up with Macade. He said he was awesome fast! Then Macade took us to meet the Captain over the whole Company. He shook Sterling's hand and then turned right to me and said, "you've done a good job with this one Mom". I thought my heart would burst with pride right there! Are you kidding!? It was amazing! He also told us that the PT award was the best to have because it would open many doors.

When we said goodbye that night, I told Macade that I wasn't crying out of worry or that I would miss him too much, but that my pride was overflowing!

The next morning they flew him to South Carolina where he is hoping to start training really soon. He can't sit still too long these days. He will be there for 12 more weeks and then who knows what the future holds for him.

OK so my keyboard is shorting out from taking on water, so I will leave you with these pictures of my son, the American Soldier.

Now selling!!!

Hey all. Just thought I should let you know that my card making is going to a new level. I will be selling all of my card collection for donations to a Cancer relay that I am taking part in. I need to earn a minimum of $100 to participate.
I will also be making special ordered cards to supplement my income. I love making cards! I love knowing that people are receiving a handmade card and loving it! I'd love to share this with my family and friends first before I go online. So if you are in need of cards, let me know. If you feel like you know someone that would like to buy handmade cards, give them my number. I will also start posting a few cards so you can get a general idea of my style.
Cards also make great gift ideas. Know someone who would like a years worth of birthday cards? I just would need info like age and gender and maybe favorite themes and I can hook you up with a great gift. I feel like I can make your cards amazing and for a great price! I hope to save people money and time at a store. All the while coming home with handmade, high quality cards.
Thanks all,
B

The latest, a little cutesy, but I love the bunny!

My new Favorite???

O my gosh! This is the best book I have read in a spell. I read it in 4 days! I am not usually one to do that, but I could not put it down. (Much to the dismay of some hungry family members.)

If you get a chance to read this, do!

Not much going on.
There is a train loop in my garage.

Readers Poll: Do I look like this woman?

Sorry Jen, I stole your face. In more ways than one.

I once had a woman chase me through a hotel in SLC yelling "Jennifer"!

My own mother could not tell us apart from a short distance.

Jen, have I ever told you that you are GORGOUS?!!!

This is my friend from the good ol days at PHS! Now here's the thing... Jen is beautiful and I realize she has aged more gracefully than I have.

But doesn't she look like me?

A little?

Ouch!

So, here you have it. You can loose expression in your face if you dive into concrete. Who knew!
Koy had a minor accident at school yesterday. I told him he should make up something great like getting mauled by a bear, but he decided to go with honesty. He was sitting on a bar and just face planted right off it. Poor guy! So, needless to say, he was slightly embarrassed. Of course it was totally necessary to pull out some embarrassing stories of my own. Like the time I dove into the shallow end of the pool the day before picture day. Oh man! That was something I still might need therapy over. Don't tell Koy though. He thinks I made it through without anything coming back to haunt me. (Like my awful 7th grade photo that year...)

To my dear friend Julie

It was brought to my attention today from my good friend, Miss, that there is an actual hymn called "Lay your head on my ample arm".
Julie, just so you know, if we ever sing this in Sacrament, I will never come again.
Ewww...

Out of respect for my faithful readers...

I will change my blog so no one throws up. I know that last one was a little sappy. If you enjoyed that, click on Macades link. That will really test your gag reflex.

So today I will blog about.....

How much I would like to yell at the manager at Sonic!!!

I have not had a Sonic drink in a week due to my protest and I am hurtin!! Can you believe the nerve of that guy to put LIME JUICE in my drink on Saturday?! Not freshly squeezed, but the nasty artificial stuff! He is constantly out of items, such as...

Ketchup, lids, lime, cups, diet coke (I know! America's drink stop my @#$%!) and here is the clencher... my co-worker was told they were out of water the other day! Come on Zach! What has happened in your life to cause me, the innocent addict, pain like this?

So if you feel the pain, join me in protest. I am calling in. I can stand for it no longer.

There must be change!!!
Or guess where I'm going?

My Valentine!

Much to contrary belief, I absolutely adore this man! Here are some reasons why
1- Sterling is the funniest person I know. He makes me laugh daily and that is good!
2- He works so hard. I will never be hungry cause this guy would work anywhere to provide for his family.
3- He does a fabulous impression of Mr. Sir.
4- He is compassionate about things. Sometimes I confuse this with psycho but this man loves trains!
5- I know without a doubt that he would do anything for me. He may grumble, but he'll do it.
6- Sterling acts like he is a grumpy guy, but is really one of the softest guys ever!
7- He keeps his cubicle almost spotless. The cubes around him are all, well..... used. But Sterling's is so free of clutter that it is weird.
8- Sterling can talk like a relief society woman! With the right people he could go all night.
9- Movies insult his intelligence. His quote, not mine.
10- He loves sudoku!
11- Sterling is so talented! He really is an artist. He can weather a train car that grown men lust after.
12- I'm pretty sure he could live off of cold cereal.
13- He will be super mad at me if he finds out about this blog post! He he!
14- Sterling can't sit still. He's just like his Dad this way. He can't even work out on a treadmill because it is so boring.
15- He's got awesome handwriting. It's the drafter in him.
16- He has a nickname for EVERYONE. And they change every now and again. Mine is "Muffin Lips" right now. Koy is "Chaz" and Sklyer is "Club". Cade's changes daily. This can get annoying given the wrong nickname.
17- Sterling has taken us on some really fun trips! We always have so much fun!
18- He always smells good! He doesn't even smell bad after working out. How does he do that?
19- He's a great gift buyer! Never a disappointment here.
20- He has good style. Sterling always looks good! Love it!
21- Sterling doesn't answer the phone. Cell phone, yes. Home phone, no. Why?
22- He is my partner is Coke addiction! I don't know if he is as bad as me, but we have been known to toss back a few late at night.
23- He loves to pick a good fight with Skyler every day. I am sure that has something to do with why Skyler is so great.
24- Sterling loves his family. He would do anything for any of them.
25- He takes good care of me.
I love you!
PS Sterling you gotta be glad I didn't put some dorky picture of you here. That counts for something right?

There's something about Skyler

1- Skyler has a terrific memory. He can tell you years, months and even days of events that I forgot even happened.

2- Skyler is the messiest autistic guy I know. None of that lining stuff up and keeping things meticulous around here.

3- Big surprise, Skyler LOVES dinosaurs! Since he was just a baby they have been his thing. He can name hundreds of dinosaurs that most people did not even know existed.

4- He did not talk until he was 4 years old. Actually, there are rumors that he still doesn't talk.

5- Skyler loves making movies. I smell a Jurassic Park remake.

6- He can run really fast! Must be due to Macade bugging him.

7- Skyler can grow facial hair faster than anyone I know. Grizzly Adams reincarnate.

8- Skyler carries a 20 lb backpack to school everyday! No wonder he is so skinny. I better go buy myself a backpack.

9- At 3 years old, Skyler would do anything for frozen peas. The kid loved them. Weird.

10- He sleeps under every blanket he can find! I have to dig him out every morning.

11- I'm pretty sure he has snuck his lucky dinosaurs into the UBSCT testing this week.

12- Skyler laughs really hard while watching Home Alone and Mouse Hunt. Something about seeing grown men practically kill themselves that he really gets a kick out of.

13- Skyler keeps a meticulous journal. And he enjoys it.

14- He has been playing the guitar for about 5 months. I can't get enough!

15- Sklyer is my breath of fresh air!

Koy and 15 reasons he is so cool!

1- Koy cannot do fishy lips. Try as he might, the fish don't want to lip!

2- He scored in the top 10% of students in the nation this year. (I think we should check DNA)

3- Koy can do just about any accent you ask him to. It's freaky really!

4- Koy is an encycopedia when it comes to football!

5- He loves snickers. (Found this out after he won a football bet with a neighbor)

6- Koy reads a ton! He even reads in the car on the way to school EVERY morning!

7- Koy now wears a bigger shoe than I do. (Not a hard one to beat, but he is proud.)

8- He can play guitar hero like a rock star! Who knew? I can't hit a note.

9- He missed 100% on a pre-test just today by one letter.

10- Koy loves animals! A lot!

11- He cuddles up to me in bed whenever he can sneak in without Dad noticing.

12- He is whitty! Umm I can't think of anything to say about that one. He doesn't get that from me.

13- His nickname is Chubs. Funny this, cause he is a rail, but Skyler insists.

14- Koy is a total worry wart! This he does get from me. Hmmm

15- I could hang with Koy all day and never get bored.

Love this kid!!

Happy Holidays!

I know I am a little slow in typing this, but I hope you all had very Happy Holidays! We have been very low key around here. Just enjoying the break from every day business. It was also a time for me to contemplate our last Christmas with everyone still in the house. It is a weird but welcome transition for me. I realize my family is growing up and moving on. Macade may be in South Carolina next year for Christmas. Time will tell...

Happy New Year to you all. May the new year hold many happy and good times for all of our family and friends!
